"Would be a good signing" - Journalist drops Newcastle verdict on "explosive" 75 G/A target

Newcastle United target Jack Harrison would be a good signing for the club, says Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Harrison has been linked with a move to St James’ Park, and while Taylor thinks there are better players out there, he still believes that the Leeds winger would be a solid addition to Eddie Howe’s squad.

As per The Telegraph, Newcastle have a long-term interest in the 25-year-old and could launch a bid for him this summer.

He played a big part in Leeds successfully avoiding the drop in the 2021/22 season, scoring eight goals in 35 appearances, including the winner in that win against Brentford.

As a result of Jesse Marsch’s men surviving, The Telegraph claims that Newcastle fear a deal for Harrison will be difficult to do.

Nevertheless, it looks like they will still try to bring the Englishman to St James’ Park in the upcoming transfer window.

Taylor thinks Newcastle and PIF can get better players than Harrison like his Leeds team-mate Raphinha; however, the Daily Express journalist still likes the idea of them moving for the former Manchester City man.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “I think someone like Jack Harrison would be a good signing, but that’s not to say they can’t get better players like a Raphinha or a Moussa Diaby, who might cost 50 million from Leverkusen.

“But Harrison, he’s English, established in the Premier League. I think he’d be good.”

As Taylor has already touched on, Harrison has Premier League experience after his two seasons in the division with Leeds.

He is also capable of producing in the final third, coming up with 16 goal contributions back in the 2020/21
