Worrying for Spurs: Well-known pundit claims everyone 'positioning right now' for huge change

Football pundit Richard Keys believes that Antonio Conte may not last at Tottenham Hotspur as he has his eyes on another managerial role.

Keys has claimed that Conte’s next move could hinge on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester United forward has recently shown his frustrations at Old Trafford after things haven’t quite gone to plan since the return of the Portuguese international.

Keys believes that Conte is eyeing up the managerial hotseat at United, but will only move if Ronaldo leaves.

Keys posted on Twitter: “If Ronaldo leaves Utd this summer don’t rule out Conte taking the job. Ronaldo is the reason he’s not there now. I sense everyone is positioning right now.”

This could be extremely bad news for Spurs fans, especially after the positive turnaround that they had seen since the introduction of Conte.

TIF Thoughts on Richard Keys’ comments on the Ronaldo and Antonio Conte situation…

Conte has turned things around at Spurs and became the first manager in the clubs history to win his opening nine league games. And with the news that Ronaldo could exit Old Trafford in the summer, this could spell bad news for Spurs, according to Richard Keys.

If Conte was to leave Spurs, then Daniel Levy would have to start from scratch again and search for a new manager. Since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure, Levy has struggled to find the perfect manager for his side.

With Conte’s introduction, it increased the chances of Spurs securing a top four finish and there was hope that his appointment would make Harry Kane change his mind and stay.

But if the Italian was to leave in the summer for United, then all of these plans could go down the drain, which would cause continued heartache for Spurs fans.
