World media reacts as Rangers 'stroll' to Europa League glory while Malmo 'horror' escalated by pile on

As starts go, Rangers couldn't have asked for a better one.

Scoring in the first minute of your Europa League opener away from home is always going to give you a real chance, and Philippe Clement's team never looked back against Malmo. New signing Nedim Bajrami wasted no time in opening his account for the club, and the second was a homemade production as Ross McCausland came off the bench to seal the win.

A pre-match social media video trolled the Light Blues, their hosts insisting they'd missed them after listing they're unbeaten run against the Gers. The Ibrox admin didn't miss a beat after full-time, telling the Swedes they were "missing you already" after a Scandinavian stroll left Rangers wishing they could play the Allsvenskan leaders every week, such the the manner of their 2-0 victory. It could and should have been more, and that was the consensus of the world's media, who saw little form of recovery from Malmo after a horror start on their home patch.

The host's dreadful start was unsurprisingly the focus for their own media. Fotboll Direckt felt Malmo were "resigned" to their fate despite abit of first half pressure.

"Nightmare start for MFF. 0-1 in the first minute. How would Malmö handle this setback after just one minute? The MFF players gathered in a circle immediately after the goal and gave an “uplifting speech”, it seemed. But it did not come to anything. MFF did not manage to mobilise and create that real pressure and the feeling was that the players in general were a bit resigned. This was certainly a disappointment for MFF who had hoped for more in the first match of the Europa League."

"Horror" was how Expressen saw it for
