Vaclav Cerny's instant Rangers mantra is tested to the max as he escalates fan promise with social media blackout

In his first address as a Rangers player Vaclav Cerny insisted he would do all of his talking on the park.

And the winger now has to stand by those statements going into Sunday's clash with St Johnstone. There has been a series of talking points off the park for the Czech international to deal with in the past week - despite being one of Philippe Clement 's go-to men in the starting line up this season.

The wide man reacted furiously to groans from the home support during the win over Hibs - was caught telling the home support 'where to go' after he was robbed of the ball. He was spoken to by Clement shortly after being being substituted - and things didn't get much better in the Europa League defeat to Lyon where he missed an open goal with the clash goalless. Lyon star Maxence Caqueret rubbed it in for Cerny after the game - thanking him for the miss.

The off the park noise has seen Cerny delete his Instagram page as he undertakes an online blackout going into the Premiership clash with the Perth Saints. And he appears to have now taken the promise he made to fans during his Ibrox introduction to the next level.

Asked at his first press conference after joining on loan from Wolfsburg if he thought he could be the goalscoring winger that Rangers "have not had in a long time", he replied: "I hope that could be me. But I have experienced this over the last few years, it is better to do your talking on the field, and try to be your best and the rest will come by its self.

"That is the goal I have. That is the desire I have - to score a lot of goals and prepare a lot of goals, but I need to get to the level."
