World Cup 2022 Draw: Date, Teams and Everything We Know So Far

Football fans across the globe are getting excited for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to see who their respective national sides will be grouped up with.

Most of the teams for this tournament have qualified, but we do have a few more playoff matches to decide the 32 teams that will be heading to the Middle East later this year.

The tournament will be the first World Cup to be played between November and December since it is too hot to play football during the months of June up until August.

With England reaching the final of Euro 2020 and the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018, there is hope and ambition that they can go all the way in Qatar.

The draw will take place on Friday 1st April 2022 at 11:30 am BST and will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. When it begins, 29 teams will have qualified for the tournament.

For those who do not know, The 32 nations involved in the 2022 World Cup will be drawn into eight groups of four. Host nation Qatar will be in position one of Group A. The other nations involved in the draw will be split into four pots based on FIFA rankings with the top-rated teams joining Qatar in pot one.

Teams who are in the same confederation cannot be drawn against each other, except for UEFA. Those sides based in Europe can see no more than two teams drawn in the same group.

With 32 teams able to be involved in the tournament, countries across the world have been participating in the World Cup qualifiers over the last couple of years, 15 of the teams have already qualified, whilst there are 17 more spots up for grabs.
