'Working on final details' - Fabrizio Romano drops Liverpool exit claim regarding 'monster'

Liverpool forward Divock Origi is continuing to edge towards a summer move to AC Milan, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Belgian has enjoyed a truly memorable Reds career, scoring some iconic goals in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Origi is out of contract at the end of the season, though, and with no new contract coming his way, he will depart Liverpool on a free transfer.

Milan have always looked like the front-runners to sign the 27-year-old, and his move to the San Siro appears to be getting closer all the time.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Romano claimed that Milan were still working on getting the imminent deal over the line. He outlined:

“AC Milan are working on final details to complete Divock Origi deal on a free transfer. Liverpool are aware of the negotiations between AC Milan and Origi agents, the contract proposal almost ready.

“Origi already informed Liverpool board that he’s gonna leave.”

Origi will undoubtedly go down as a Liverpool cult hero after chipping in with some priceless goals against the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham, Everton and Wolves down the years.

It feels like the right time for him to leave, though, with the Belgium international too good to be warming the substitutes’ bench every week, having been described as a ‘monster’ by Jurgen Klopp.

Joining Milan would be ideal for Origi, with the Rossoneri on the verge of winning the Serie A title this season, also sealing another Champions League campaign in the process.

In other news, another Liverpool exit claim has emerged. Read more here.
