Former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made nine saves from 24 shots in an inspired performance against Liverpool as Real Madrid claimed their 14th Champions League title. Vinicius Jr scored the only goal of the game in Paris to see off Jurgen Klopp's side.

Now the former Chelsea goalkeeper has demanded respect from fans all over the world - especially those from his former club - as he believes he is underrated by those in England. Courtois was never regarded highly by the majority of Chelsea supporters and is often derided on his return to England with Real.

"I saw a lot of tweets coming my way today saying that I will be humbled, but I think it was the other way around," he said live on BT Sport after the game.
