Woodgate backs ‘world-class’ Kane to depart Tottenham Hotspur this summer on one condition

Jonathan Woodgate is of the belief that Harry Kane will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer if Antonio Conte does not stay beyond this season.

Kane was keen to leave Spurs last summer ahead of the European Championships. Man City were interested in him but they could not agree a fee with Tottenham.

The striker made a slow start to this season but he has been at his best under Conte. The Italian replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in November.

It was suggested back in March that Conte could leave Spurs this summer to take over from Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.

Woodgate thinks Kane will also depart if Conte decides to exit at the end of this season:

“I think if Conte leaves, Kane leaves,” said Woodgate (quotes via The Express).

“He has two years left on his contract and Conte only has a year left and has been rumoured with other clubs.

“And I think Conte will go if they don’t get the top four. I know City look like they’ve completed the signing of [Erling] Haaland, but there will be someone out there who wants to take Harry Kane – he’s world-class.”
