Woman's 'hey guys' comment on Facebook post comes back to haunt her

This is the moment a wanted woman who taunted police online was found hiding under a pile of toys. Greater Manchester Police previously issued an appeal to find a 22-year-old woman who was wanted on suspicion of failing to appear at court.

According to GMP, the woman was charged with three counts of assault of an emergency worker, drugs offences and theft. Police issued an appeal to find her on social media.

But after the post went online, the woman commented underneath: "Hey guys." The woman has now been arrested at a property in Fallowfield.

Manchester city centre police found the woman hiding in a room under a pile of children's toys. She was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear at court and assaulting a police officer.

The woman remains in custody for questioning by police this afternoon (Friday). Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald, from GMP’s Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “We currently have a woman in custody being questioned by detectives thanks to the swift actions of our officers.

"We want to thank everyone who engaged with our post, it ultimately helped us to locate and arrest this woman and we have dedicated teams of officers across Manchester who are actively seeking and arresting those who are wanted."
