Amazon's £18 whisky shoppers buy for the bottle, but keep coming back to for the taste

If you haven't quite yet developed a palate for drinking whisky neat, scouring high and low for a dram that is versatile enough to be a mixer can be a chore.

But if the description "smooth and rugged whisky built for mixing" doesn't fit the bill, then nothing will. The Woodsman Blended Scotch Whisky is currently reduced by 36% on Amazon, to £18.05 down from £28.00 (all prices correct at the time of writing). And as above, it's the perfect addition if you're wanting to have your whisky with something else.

You can drink it with a fizzy soda, or have it in a tall glass with some ginger beer. You could also use it for classic cocktails like an old fashioned and add a dollop of maple syrup for some extra flair. As it's a blended, modern Scottish whisky you can also have it neat though, and it's produced using a mix of freshly built American Oak casks and double-scorched Bourbon barrels to give it that extra smoothness.

The bottle it comes in is also something of a beauty, with the patterned glass making it an elegant addition to any drinks collection. Tasters at Master of Malt said its nose is "sandalwood, honey, almond slices and sawdust", while the finish is "a touch of smoke underneath spearmint and cinnamon".

So far it has a 4.7 average on Amazon out of some 1,291 reviews, with one five-star review raving: "The bottle and advertising tempted me into this whisky and it's very nice and smooth will buy again".
