Woman rushes bobble to animal hospital after mistaking it for baby hedgehog

A woman who mistakenly believed she had found a baby hedgehog rushed it to an animal hospital - only for staff to discover the furry creature was in fact a pom pom.

The kind lady had kindly put the bobble in a box with some food and a warming water bottle overnight before delivering it to the hospital the following morning. However, staff at Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve and Wildlife Hospital, near Knutsford, were surprised when they realised she had actually brought them a furry hat bobble.

In a post on Facebook the shelter said their 'hearts melted' after realising the 'hoglet' was a hoax, adding the woman had 'done the right thing' if she had in fact found a hedgehog, reports Cheshire Live.

Danielle has been a volunteer since July 2023 at the nature reserve and wildlife hospital, which boasts over 70 volunteers and accepts animals from all over the region.

Staff shared the cute story on Facebook, writing: "Our hearts melted as a kind soul thought she was rescuing a baby hedgehog, only to discover it was a fluffy pom pom from a bobble hat. This adorable 'hoglet' still got all the love, complete with some cosy TLC."

They also said, "Remember, kindness knows no bounds, even when it's to a faux furry friend," and gave some
