Woman pushing pram and 'other members of the public' assaulted in Chorlton

A woman pushing a pram and 'other members of the public' were assaulted during a disturbing incident in Chorlton, police have revealed. A 55-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the attacks, Greater Manchester Police added.

Officers were called to Manchester Road in Chorlton at around 1.30pm on Monday.

The force has issued a public appeal for the woman with the pram to come forward, saying she ran off after her dog following the incident. GMP Chorlton and Didsbury issued the appeal via Facebook.

No injuries are referenced in the post and details are scare. The woman arrested is being held on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police said: "Officers investigating an incident in Chorlton are appealing to the victim to come forward, as a suspect remains in custody.

"At around 1.30pm on Monday, June 20, a woman with a pram and dog was assaulted on Manchester Road. Immediately afterwards, the victim ran off after her dog and other members of the public were assaulted.

"A 55-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She remains in police custody for questioning."

The force appealed for anyone with information to come forward. No further details have been revealed.
