Woman, 49, tragically dies in horror motorbike crash in East Yorkshire

A 49-year-old woman tragically died following a horrific motorbike crash on Wednesday evening (December 18).

Emergency services were called to the incident near Thorngumbald in East Yorkshire. The crash happened on the A1033 at around 5.15pm, reportedly involving a car and a motorbike.

The motorbike rider, named as 49-year-old Karen Smith, sadly died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, HullLive reports.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police confirmed.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or who has dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 380 of 18 December.
