Wolves transfer news: Key £20m update emerges on Bruno Lage target Dael Fry

Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to fork out £20million if they want to prise Dael Fry away from Middlesbrough at the end of the season, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Fry helped Boro to see off Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup last Friday by converting a penalty in the shoot-out and he is on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs.

Football League World have revealed that Fry is being tracked by Wolves ahead of a potential move for his services when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The report suggests the West Midlands club will face competition in attempting to secure the 24-year-old’s signature as Leeds United, West Ham United, Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Brentford are also showing an interest.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage was unable to welcome a new centre-back to Molineux despite admitting strengthening in that position was a ‘priority’ during the January transfer window.

As a result, Conor Coady, Max Kilman, Romain Saiss and Toti Gomes are the only fully-fit central defenders currently at Lage’s disposal.

Meanwhile, a string of brilliant performances have resulted in Fry being a regular starter for Middlesbrough despite question marks over his long-term future.

Jones understands Middlesbrough are seeking a huge sum after being alerted to interest in central defender Fry.
