Wolves told to agree deals for 200-cap duo with 'big blow' on horizon

Wolverhampton Wanderers should prioritise handing new contracts to Joao Moutinho and Romain Saiss as seeing both depart Molineux for free would come as a ‘big blow’, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Wolves have seen their push for European football falter thanks to three consecutive defeats to Arsenal, West Ham United and Crystal Palace, but the West Midlands club could look to persuade Moutinho and Saiss to extend their stay beyond the end of the current campaign.

Moutinho, 35, and Saiss’ respective contracts are set to expire at the end of June, leading to serious question marks over where their long-term future lies.

Jornal de Noticias, via Sport Witness, have claimed a return to his homeland could be on the cards ahead of next season.

Saiss, whose current agreement is worth £22,000-per-week, has featured for Wolves 200 times but the 31-year-old’s precarious contract situation has led to interest from other clubs.

Moroccan media outlet Hespress have revealed Saiss has become a target for La Liga title chasers Sevilla.
