Wolves team news vs Newcastle United: Luke Cundle starts as Dendoncker and Podence miss out

Luke Cundle makes his second Premier League start for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Newcastle United after replacing Leander Dendoncker in midfield.

Cundle plays alongside Joao Moutinho at St James' Park as Bruno Lage sticks with a 3-4-3 formation. Dendoncker is one of two notable absentees from the squad, with Daniel Podence also missing.

Podence is replaced up front by Hwang Hee-chan, with Fabio Silva keeping his place through the middle once more. The 19-year-old striker stepped in for Raul Jimenez against Villa last weekend and impressed Lage enough to warrant a second successive start.

Yerson Mosquera and Chem Campbell replace Dendoncker and Podence in the match day squad. Mosquera has recently returned from a long-term injury absence, and Campbell has starred for the under-23s this term.

Wolves have found some consistency in recent weeks with three wins in their last four Premier League games, including the 2-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend. A victory for Wolves this evening would move them up to sixth in the table above West Ham and Manchester United.
