Wolves: 'Something has to change in next two weeks' at Molineux

Wolves‘ fortunes must change quickly if they want to continue challenging for Europe, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Bruno Lage’s side are still within touching distance of the top six but have slipped off the pace after agonising defeats to Arsenal and West Ham in recent days.

When Wolves were 1-0 up at Arsenal heading into the closing stages of the Emirates, the Molineux faithful were probably beginning to dream of a place in next season’s Champions League.

Victory would have seen them climb above the Gunners in the Premier League and move just three points behind the top four with games in hand on both West Ham and Manchester United.

However, a late collapse saw Lage’s men slip to a 2-1 defeat, which saw them stay seventh. Defeat at West Ham on Sunday, combined with Tottenham’s win at Leeds 24 hours earlier saw Wolves fall to eighth in the top-flight, seven points behind the top four.

But Wolves are firmly still in the conversation to qualify for Europe in some capacity, although Jones reckons that their fortunes need to shift quickly if they want to remain in the race.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If they’re going to go for these European places, then something’s going to have to change over the next two weeks.

“They’ve got some nice fixtures coming up, they’ve got a nice little run where they can make up some ground.”
