Wolves prize money revealed as Pedro Neto sends message after Liverpool goal
Here are all the latest Wolves headlines on Tuesday, May 24...
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ final day defeat to Liverpool cost the club more than £4million in Premier League prize money.
Bruno Lage’s team put up a fight on Merseyside and took the lead through Pedro Neto’s third minute goal. But Sadio Mane levelled before half-time, and Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson struck late on to hand Liverpool victory.
Wolves started the day in eighth place but Leicester City’s 4-1 thrashing of Southampton, coupled with Brighton’s comeback win over West Ham, saw the club drop to 10th. Wolves were pushing for a Champions League spot in February, but a wretched run of nine defeats in the final 14 games has cost the club dear.
It has also hit owners Fosun in the pocket with Wolves set to receive £24.2m in prize money for their 10th-placed finish, in comparison to the £28.6m they would have bagged for ending the season in eighth. Wolves coveted fourth position for a large portion of the season and Tottenham Hotspur will earn £37.4m for securing the final Champions League place.

Pedro Neto says 'everything is fine' after his latest injury scare in Wolverhampton Wanderers' final day defeat to Liverpool.
The Portuguese winger opened the scoring at Anfield with his first goal of a frustrating season before going down with a leg injury in the 20th minute. Neto needed to be replaced by Hwang Hee-chan and Wolves lost some of their spark going forward.
Goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson eventually handed Liverpool a 3-1 victory. It didn't matter though as Manchester City came from two goals down to defeat Aston Villa to win the Premier League title.
