Wolves fans make same Matheus Nunes point amid 'blocked' transfer claim

Wolverhampton Wanderers are yet to make any moves in the summer transfer window and could be set to wait to finalise their first deal.

Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes has attracted interest from around the top leagues across Europe after impressing in Liga NOS. Bruno Lage's men are joined by Newcastle United and Everton in chasing the 23-year-old, with a decision set to be made when the player returns from his injury.

Nunes would cost €40million (£34m) and could arrive at Molineux as Ruben Neves' replacement as Manchester United and Barcelona continue their interest in the Wanderers midfielder. Wolves are understood to want in excess of £50million for their Portuguese playmaker, but his possible exit has put Nunes move on hold.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have stated that Wolves need the "financial inflow" from a transfer including Neves before they can pursue with signing Nunes, putting the deal in a "blocked" status. The same reason is said to be key as to why Joao Palhinha is close to joining Premier League newcomers Fulham.

Nunes has previously been reluctant over the idea over making the switch from Lisbon to Wolverhampton, but the report claims the player understands the importance of the fee to the Portuguese side and has "greater visibility" over receiving an increase in his wage.

Following the update on Wolves' attempts to bring Nunes to the Black County, Wolves fans have been sharing their frustration at the strategy implemented by the club and have provided a different method in raising funds to complete the signing. Here is what some of them have had to say...

Sell MGW for £20m & Traore for £15m and buy Nunes. Keep Neves.
