Wolves are in growing danger of losing midfield regular Romain Saiss, with Real Betis and Villarreal reportedly keen on the Morocco international.

Wolves have had a good season up to this point. Indeed, they are currently eighth in the Premier League, with a 10-point gap separating them from ninth.

The Molineux outfit’s defensive qualities have been their main asset this season. Indeed, they have only once conceded more than two goals in a game once this term.

Their last Premier League fixture saw them suffer a dramatic 3-2 loss against Leeds United. However, Wolves still have the fourth-best defensive record in the division, after the top three.

One crucial member of the solid defence has been Saiss. The Morocco international has missed just two league games this season, while he was at the African Cup of Nations.

Other than that period, there have been just two games in which Saiss has not played a full 90 minutes. Clearly, he has been a massive asset for the West Midlanders.

However, Wolves may begin to sweat, as a pair of Spanish sides have reportedly registered at interest in the star. Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Betis have taken a keen interest in Saiss.

With an ageing Andres Guardado’s minutes dwindling for Betis, Saiss could be seen as an apt replacement. Indeed, the star can play as a midfielder, as well as in his current role as a centre-back.
