Wolves: 'Brilliant' £25m star 'wants assurances' before signing at Molineux

Wolves attacker Morgan Gibbs-White wants assurances over game time before signing a new contract at Molineux, says talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

It is believed that the 22-year-old has been offered a fresh deal; however, he is yet to put pen to paper on it.

In May, The Athletic reported that Wolves had offered Gibbs-White a new contract after his impressive loan spell in the Championship with Sheffield United.

“He’s brilliant to have in the team. He’s always looking for the killer pass which is obviously brilliant for me,” Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp said when discussing the English youngster’s impact at Bramall Lane.

With Gibbs-White failing to sign a fresh deal at Molineux so far, though, Southampton and Nottingham Forest are preparing to make a swoop for the Wolves star, according to The Sun.

In terms of how much he could cost, Football Insider claims that the Saints and Forest could be looking at £25m for his signature, though The Sun has suggested that it could end up being more.

Crook does not think Gibbs-White is in any rush to put pen to paper on an extension at Wolves.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the talkSPORT reporter said: “I think he wants assurances that he will play, and obviously that’s difficult for any manager, especially when Bruno Lage has only really seen him in the Championship, so I don’t think he’s rushing to sign it.”

Taking everything into account, you can see why Gibbs-White is holding off from doing the above. He had a fantastic campaign last season and will want to build on that by actually playing.

In 37 Championship appearances, including the play-offs, he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists.
