Wolves: £25m star 'won't be happy with treatment' at Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White ‘won’t be happy with how he’s been treated’, according to journalist Josh Holland.

The Midlands outfit have perhaps not always chosen the best pathway for their promising academy graduate, and he now appears to be at a crossroads in his career.

Last time out, Gibbs-White enjoyed the sort of season that his natural talent had promised since he made his senior debut back in 2017.

The 22-year-old was voted Sheffield United’s Player of the Year after he registered 13 goals and 10 assists in 40 appearances while on loan, guiding the South Yorkshire outfit to the Championship play-offs.

And Gibbs-White’s impressive performances for the Blades appear to have caught the eye of newly-promoted Nottingham Forest and Premier League outfit Southampton.

A report from The Sun at the start of the month claimed both Forest and the Saints were prepared to make a move for the creative talent, who is valued in excess of £25 million.

90min have since provided an update on Gibbs-White’s situation, stating that Steve Cooper’s charges have made an approach for the England Under-21 international.

Wolves manager Bruno Lage has insisted that Gibbs-White can be an “important player” at Molineux and The Athletic’s Tim Spiers has reported that the club’s hierarchy are set to offer him a new contract.

And Holland believes that the versatile ace will recognise his high price tag, a big decision by the club, means the Midlands outfit ‘rate him’ and ‘want to give him a chance’.
