Wolves boss Bruno Lage sends clear Morgan Gibbs-White transfer message to Nottingham Forest

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage has reaffirmed that he wants Morgan Gibbs-White to stay at the club this summer amid interest from Nottingham Forest.

Gibbs-White has been strongly linked with a move away from Molineux throughout the summer after enjoying a successful loan spell with Sheffield United last season. The 22-year-old scored 12 goals and provided a further nine assists to help the Blades reach the Championship play-offs.

He returned to training at Compton during pre-season and started Wanderers' Premier League opening weekend defeat to Leeds United. However, there remains uncertainty regarding his future in the Black Country as Forest remain keen on the England Under-21 international.

Steve Cooper's side have been the busiest club in the Premier League this summer, with 12 signings already confirmed and more to follow. Gibbs-White has been linked with a move to the City Ground after struggling for regular first team minutes at Wolves, but Lage wants the academy graduate to stay at the club.

"I want him," Lage said. "One thing that I want is all the best players. The other thing is the question of the market. We cannot have players that go to the end of their contract like Adama (Traore).

"I'm here and I still talk to Adama. I can see him and he's very happy, but he’s going to play for us but in one year, he's available for free. I need to understand that part from the club.

"We keep the players and if they go, we don't have nothing to replace that kind of player. We're trying to do our best. I want to keep all the players with me. But in the end, we need to find the right balance.
