Wolves: £27m star could leave Molineux this summer

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker might have to move on from Molineux this summer, according to transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a switch to Italy, and O’Rourke believes it is something that could happen if his team-mates Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho end up remaining at the club.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Lazio are looking at Dendoncker as they prepare for life without Lucas Leiva.

The Belgian, who is valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, is not the only Wolves midfielder thought to be attracting interest, however.

Sky Sports recently claimed that Arsenal have made Neves a top target, while Moutinho is almost certain to catch the attention of several clubs in the summer if he does not extend his current contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season.

The above means Bruno Lage could have quite the rebuild job on his hands ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “If those two players end up staying at Wolves, that might mean Dendoncker might have to move on, and he has got this interest from Italy as well.”

If Wolves want to remain in the conversation for European football, then they have to keep hold of Dendoncker, as well as Neves and Moutinho.

The Belgium international has been such a useful player for the Premier League outfit since joining on an initial loan deal from Anderlecht back in 2018.
