Wolvaardt, Khaka move up ICC Women's ODI rankings after Ireland clean sweep

Proteas women's batter Laura Wolvaardt has climbed in the latest ICC ODI rankings following South Africa's one-day series win against Ireland.

Last week, the Proteas clean swept the three-match ODI series 3-0 in Dublin, handing South Africa their sixth consecutive ODI series win.

Wolvaardt ended as the second-highest run-scorer of the series, scoring 124 runs at an average of 41.33.

Last Friday, Wolvaardt brought up her 27th ODI century as she made 89 off 128 balls in the third and final ODI to steer the Proteas to a clinical win.

According to the ICC's latest updates, Wolvaardt moved up one place to fourth position.

Proteas opener Lara Goodall, who finished as the highest run-scorer of the series, gained 15 slots and is 43rd after topping the series aggregate with 143 runs.

Captain Sune Luus, who top-scored with 93 in the final ODI, also moved up two places in the batting rankings to a career-best 21st position.

Opener Andrie Steyn impressed with the bat, scoring 119 runs in the three ODIs, and is up 16 places to 67th in the ICC rankings.

Meanwhile, in the bowling rankings, pacer Ayabonga Khaka continued her climb as she moved two places to a career-best-equaling fifth position.

Fast bowler Shabnim Ismail has achieved a career-best 755 rating points after a Player of the Series effort of 11 wickets.

Ismail remains in second position, which is her career-best and is 16 points adrift of England spinner Sophie Ecclestone.

Luus (up two places to 37th) and Chloe Tryon (up six places to 50th) has also progressed in Tuesday's weekly rankings update.

The Proteas are in England and prepare for an all-format tour, with the first historic Test scheduled on Monday at County Ground in Taunton.
