'Woah...': Celtic star reacts to official club post on 'absolutely brilliant' news from Parkhead
Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has reacted to the club’s post regarding his return on social media.
Jullien made a long-awaited return to the action at Parkhead this weekend, 409 days after he suffered a serious knee injury against Dundee United.
The defender suffered the injury in Celtic’s final game of 2020 and was initially set to be out for three to four months.
However, as we know, the 28-year-old missed all of 2021 and made his first appearance under Ange Postecoglou against Raith Rovers on the weekend. Jullien came on for Cameron Carter-Vickers with just over 15 minutes remaining as the Hoops won 4-0.
Celtic posted a video on Monday afternoon of Jullien coming on for Carter-Vickers. Their official Twitter post resulted in Jullien thanking fans for their support, with his message available to read below.
“Woah this was one of the best feelings… Thank you all for that moment and all the good vibes during all that time.”
Pundit Noel Whelan labelled Jullien’s return as ‘absolutely brilliant’ news, and hopefully, the defender can now seriously challenge Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt for the remainder of the season.
The pair have been regulars under Postecoglou this season, but you’d expect Jullien will give the Hoops boss a good headache when it comes to selection at the back.
The Frenchman is the club’s sixth most-expensive signing of all time and has an impressive goal record in green and white, contributing to 14 goals in 62 appearances. So, on that basis, once Jullien is 100% back up to speed, it’ll be interesting to see who Postecoglou’s first choice paring will be.
