Winter Olympics 2022: Teenager Kirsty Muir makes Big Air final, plus latest news, results and medal table

The youngest member of the British team at the Beijing Olympics, Kirsty Muir, booked her place in the Big Air final as the 17-year-old qualified seventh.

Only the top 12 made it through to the shoot-out for the medals meaning Muir’s countrywoman Katie Summerhayes just missed out by finishing in 13th place.

Muir was the pick of the British athletes in the early action on Monday, landing a double 1260 in her opening round, which she had struggled with in practice, to help cement her place in the final.

Speaking after qualifying, she said: “I was really happy to land my first jump, as I had crashed during practice a bit. I can clean up the grabs and there’s a few little things I could improve on so I just want to go ski my best in the final.”

Britain’s mixed doubles curling pair of Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat won their final group game against the United States 8-4, a match they went into having already ensured their place in the semi-finals. They return to the ice at 12.05pm GMT to take on Norway for a place in the final. Italy face Sweden in the other semi-final.
