Team GB suffered their first defeat in the men’s curling when losing a topsy-turvy encounter to Team USA. Hammy McMillan, Bobby Lammie, Grant Hardie and skip Bruce Mouat beat Italy in their Olympic Games opener. Mouat laid his final stone on the edge of the button to ask the question of Shuster, but the American removed it to secure a score of three. Mouat delivered a nose take-out with his final stone of the fifth to take two and cut the deficit to one at the halfway point. GB secured two against the hammer in the sixth, meaning Mouat’s team had moved from 5-2 down
