William Saliba may not yet be in an Arsenal shirt but he is already making a huge impression, ahead of his potential return to the club at the end of the campaign.

The 21-year-old’s excellent performances on loan at Marseille has seen him force his way into Didier Deschamps’ France squad. His frightening development and assent this season has seen his become a firm contender to break into Les Bleus’ World Cup defence in Qatar.

Having got a fine taste of top level football with Kylian Mbappe and co, Saliba sent an ominous warning to Mikel Arteta and the Gunners' defence that he is ready to break into the first team. Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed an excellent partnership this season – but so did Aymeric Laporte and John Stones before Ruben Dias arrived.
