William Creighton to contest British Rally Championship

Following the recent announcement that Cork driver Keith Cronin will contest the British Rally Championship in an effort to win his fifth crown, comes the news that William Creighton will also return to the series in 2024.

Cronin, who will also be partnering with the M-Sport team in a Ford Fiesta Rally2, won the Galway International last month.

He will be joined by Creighton, the Irish International Driver of the Year in 2023, attracted by a fresh new calendar and a return to terrestrial television in the UK.

Thanks to winning the 2023 FIA Junior World Rally Championship title, Creighton secured four rounds of the WRC in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2 provided by M-Sport Poland.

It is a very busy time for Creighton, as in preparation for the next round in Croatia Rally in April he and co-driver Liam Regan will head to the West Cork Rally next week to sample closed road rallying for the first time in a Rally2 to gain knowledge and understanding of how the Fiesta copes on asphalt.

Creighton was the 2021 BRC jnr champion, and now he goes head-to-head with the best of the BRC regulars.

"The series is an incredibly special place for me, winning the Junior title in 2021 was the culmination of many years of demanding work and it certainly gave me the grounding to be competitive in the Junior WRC the following year, "Said Creighton

Creighton will join team-mates Max McRae and Garry Pearson in the M-Sport squad, tackling the six-round series which takes in a mix of events from closed road classics, such as the Jim Clark Rally, to Wales Rally GB forestry favourites in the Severn Valley Stages.

The series also includes the FIA European Rally Championship qualifier, Rali Ceredigion.

His BRC campaign will ultimately be used as a test ground
