Will Jacks up to Centurion crowd as Capitals benefit from his blazing bat

England batter Will Jacks may have come out of the cauldron that's Pakistan to play in the SA20 for the Pretoria Capitals, but he's clearly been happy to take in the sights and sounds of SuperSport Park in Centurion.

In what was his team's first home game, Jacks's 92 off 46 powered the Capitals to their first success at home through a 37-run win against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

During the 111-run partnership with Theunis de Bruyn, he also gave fans something to smile about, with three lucky spectators grabbing one-handed catches to get themselves into the R1-million draw.

Jacks, who plays for Surrey in the County Championships was amazed by the excitement he experienced at SuperSport Park.

"I thought it was awesome and the crowd was amazing. Even when we arrived before the start of the game, there were loads of people waiting already," Jacks said.

"You could feel the excitement and when I was batting when I hit the three sixes that led to the one-handed catches, they fuelled the fire.

"It was great batting out there."

Jacks's explosive, yet measured knock allowed the Capitals to post 216, a total that was out of the Sunrisers' reach.

They didn't have the top-order collapse of the corresponding game, but Jacks said they needed to be smart at the crease.

"We've been really smart with the bat because in the first game, we lost some wickets, but some smart batting got us to a winning score," Jacks said.

"A smart partnership between me and Theunis led us to a well above-par score and in the field we were smart with our bowling changes and fielding.
