"Will Establish Himself In Team": Sunil Gavaskar's Bold England Tests Prediction For India Star

The Indian cricket team is blessed with talented batters and one of them making strong waves at the top of the order is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-handed batter has done wonders for the team in the shortest format of late and is gradually becoming a candidate in all three formats. Jaiswal, who has been picked for the 5-match Test series against England too, has been backed to cement his spot in the team by none other than the legendary Sunil Gavaskar.

Jaiswal did very well for India in the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan and his rich run of form could see him get opportunities to open in the Tests against England too. Gavaskar is one of those who is excited to see the southpaw perform in the whites.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal will easily settle in home conditions. He's also a left-hander. I think he'll establish himself completely in the Indian Test team after this series," said Gavaskar in a chat on Star Sports.

The iconic India batter also sees the home Tests against England as an opportunity for Shreyas Iyer to regain some form and execute himself in the attacking style he has in the past.

"In the World Cup, Shreyas Iyer batted brilliantly in Indian pitches, so I'm hoping he'll play similarly at No.5 in the Test series. He batted aggressively, was quite watchful at the start and then his stroke-making after reading the pitch was a delight to watch. I hope he'll replicate that," Gavaskar added.
