'Wild and freaky' horror film with near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score now streaming
A 'wild and freaky' horror film that received a near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score when it was released last year is receiving praise as fans discover it is available to stream at home.
Late Night with the Devil, landed in cinemas in 2023, with a unique approach to the found footage horror genre. The majority of the film portrays what is supposed to be a recording of a live television broadcast of a US talk show back in 1977.
It is cut with black and white segments that show behind the scenes interactions with the host Jack Delroy, played by David Dastmalchian, his producers and his guests. One of which, is a young girl who is supposed to be possessed by an otherworldly spirit.
The film's synopsis states that Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated talk show 'Night Owls' that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country.
However, ratings for the show have plummeted since the tragic death of Jack's beloved wife. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, on October 31st, 1977, Jack plans a Halloween special like no other, unaware he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America.
Late Night with the Devil sits with a near perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% rating on the website. The film is even available to stream for free by claiming a free trial on horror specialist platform Shudder by claiming a 7-day free trial as an add-on subscription via Amazon Prime video.
It means a whole host of new movie fans will be able to experience the critically praised film. One viewer simply posted online: "What a wild, freaky night at the movies."
