Wigan man turned up late to court before admitting to assaulting ex-partner on multiple occasions

A Wigan man is set to be sentenced next month after admitting to assaulting an ex-partner on multiple occasions.

Nathan Modlinsky pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm - both against the same female victim - at Bolton Crown Court today (Monday June 13). The first count relates to an incident on July 18 2021 and the second count is in relation to a four-day period between 31 July and August 3 2021.

Modlinsky, 27, of Belmont Avenue, Bickershaw, turned up late to the hearing and the court heard that he had "overslept". The court was also told that he previously missed a meeting with the probation service for the same reason.

The judge, Recorder Peter Horgan described the lateness as "the actions of a man who doesn't appear to care" and confirmed that he will sentence Modlinsky on July 29. Modlinsky was released on conditional bail - with conditions not to contact his victim, her children, or attend at their address.
