Why Ridvan Yilmaz Rangers transfer exit is a no go as previous Beale message offers strong hint at Ibrox future

Reports from Turkey would have you believe that Ridvan Yilmaz is closing in on a loan away from Rangers this summer.

But all signs suggest that, as things stand anyway, that couldn't be further from the truth. The left-back has struggled for minutes behind Borna Barisic in the Ibrox pecking order since arriving from Besiktas while injuries and personal circumstances haven't helped matters either. He's only managed eight appearances, and hadn't played since his 90-minute runout against Napoli before his substitute appearance against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup earlier this month.

Reports in his homeland suggested Besiktas have agreed a loan to take him back but it's curious timing considering Beale is likely to need the 21-year-old now more than ever. With Barisic set to miss Saturday's clash against Motherwell, Yilmaz looks in line for only his second league start and there may be more to come with a packed schedule between now and the end of the season.

It's hard to imagine them agreeing to loan him out just as he's about to get his chance to grasp the brass rings and reports closer to home have suggested there is no such agreement in place. It all comes after Beale said back in February that the youngster does have a future at Ibrox and offers them a different option to Barisic - something that could become invaluable in the weeks and months to come now he's finally fit.
