Michael Beale in Rangers transfer vow as pumped up boss insists 'we have money to spend' and bigs up Ross Wilson

Michael Beale insists he will have money to spend in the summer transfer window in order to bolster his Rangers squad.

The Ibrox manager revealed ahead of the January window he only wanted to sign first team starters instead of squad players as he attempts to bridge the gap to Celtic who currently sit top of the league. Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell were added in January which has given the Light Blues a different style of player in midfield.

Beale says he will have money to buy players, however Champions League group stage football is only guaranteed if Rangers win the league this season. A second place finish would leave Beale's side having to qualify. Celtic are currently nine points clear at the top of the Premiership with nine games to go. During Beale's press conference ahead of the visit of bottom of the league Dundee United to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon he also revealed that he has a good working relationship with Ross Wilson.

The sporting director has come under fire in recent weeks over his handling of transfers at Rangers. Fans group the Union Bears have held a number of protests calling for Ross Wilson and managing director Stewart Robertson's to resign.

Beale said: “We are very aligned and I have a strong relationship with Ross. We are clear on our decisions and will select the correct moment to communicate this. We have money to spend - a good amount for a Rangers manager, I think, and I'm really positive about the summer and the future.

"I appreciate that everyone wants us to communicate outwards which players we're signing and things like that. But it doesn't work like that. We have 10 games to go so I have to be respectful, to the players inside as well."
