Why Rasmus Hojlund's Manchester United transfer announcement has been delayed
The announcement of Rasmus Hojlund's transfer to Manchester United could be delayed by another three days.
It is understood Hojlund, 20, arrived later than planned on Tuesday and United's schedule surrounding the Dane's signing has altered. Hojlund flew into Manchester Airport at 4.15pm.
Hojlund was due to meet some supporters and conduct activities around his signing today but that was cancelled and United are focusing on his medical.
The deal is not remotely in jeopardy and United are now looking at a possible weekend announcement around the home friendly against Lens at 12.45pm on Saturday.
United agreed a fee of £64m, plus £8m in add-ons, for Hojlund with Atalanta on Saturday morning, having suggested they would not pay more than £60m.
Hojlund became United's principal striker target after the club were discouraged from bidding for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.
Senior United sources believe Hojlund is a "rough diamond" who could be developed into one of European football's elite goalscorers under the coaching of Erik ten Hag.
The Manchester Evening News revealed United manager Ten Hag held video calls with Hojlund towards the end of last season. Hojlund switched to the SEG International Agency, who also represent Ten Hag.
