Why Mathias Kvistgaarden to Celtic could FINALLY be on this summer as Brondby get honest over star man

Brondby chief Carsten V. Jensen has admitted that Mathias Kvistgaarden could be sold in the summer amid long-running links with Celtic.

The Danish striker has been subject to firm Parkhead interest throughout the last two transfer windows with an offer worth more than £4m reportedly rejected in last summer. The 21-year-old has publicly stated that he did not hold any talks with the Scottish Premiership leaders as he put the focus on lifting the Danish title this term - while the club blocked any mid-season amid the Superliga run-in.

Kvistgaarden has admitted his "dream" is to play abroad - and director of football Jensen has admitted it may be difficult for him to stand in the attacker's way once again should an offer come in this summer. Speaking to Danish outlet Bold, he said: "I recognise that there is a risk that we will lose Kvistgaarden.

"If that happens, there will also be a lot of money in the coffers, so we have something to work with. We must have a strong squad. It's about timing things and making the big sales at exactly the right times. We must stick to our sporting ambitions. We want to reach a European group stage."

It could all come down to Celtic and if they decide to revive their interest. Adam Idah arrived on loan in January and could yet make his move from Norwich City permanent - leaving Kvistgaarden out in the cold when the window opens again at the end of the campaign.
