Thomas Tuchel provides an injury update ahead of Carabao Cup final

Chelsea take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final tomorrow afternoon and it's safe to say that Thomas Tuchel will have some tough decisions to make regarding the starting XI.

The former PSG manager has multiple options to choose from in midfield and in the club's most recent victory against Lille in the Champions League round of 16 first leg tie, he favoured a Matteo Kovacic and N'golo Kante partnership, with Jorginho missing out.

Given the fact that the Italian international is an important player for Tuchel, it wouldn't be surprising to see him start tomorrow afternoon but then it's a case of who does the former Napoli midfielder come in for.

The other dilemma the German coach revolves around who he chooses to start in between the sticks, but in his latest press conference, he remained tight-lipped on the situation, offering no major hints.

"First of all, I will not tell you. We will take the decision late, but you have a reason to ask the question," Tuchel said

"The last competition – the Club World Cup – was a very short competition. Kepa played the semi-final and got us to the final and then we took the decision for Edou (Mendy) coming back from the African Cup of Nations [to start the final."
