Why isn't Hibs vs Celtic on TV? Live coverage explained ahead of Easter Road showdown

The Premiership season is fast approaching its conclusion but Hibs and Celtic fans without a ticket (or a Hibs TV pass) will have to wait until the weekend to watch their team in action.

Ange Postecoglou's team have stumbled lately with the title sewn up and next month's Scottish Cup final the only meaningful game left on their agenda. They've dropped points in back-to-back games, losing to Rangers before Motherwell took a creditable point from Parkhead at the weekend, and now need to step it up if they want to shatter the 100-point barrier.

Hosts Hibs meanwhile have plenty on the line as they look to keep the heat on Hearts and Aberdeen in the hunt for European football. They face their rivals across the city on the final day of the season and will want to be within touching distance of them to keep their destiny within their own hands. To ensure that, they may need to win this one as Hearts face Rangers at Ibrox at the same time.

This one hasn't been picked for broadcast with Sky electing for that showdown between Hearts and Rangers, which also kicks off at 7.45pm. There is a full Premiership card in both halves of the split but it's only the Ibrox showpiece that will be live on the box.

Fans will be able to view the game but they will have to purchase a Hibs 'game pass' and watch it on the club's channel. It will cost £12.99 and can be purchased here.
