Brendan Rodgers not good Celtic 'fit' as Simon Jordan admits surprise if boss 'skulks' back to Scotland

Simon Jordan doesn't see Brendan Rodgers as good fit for Celtic and can't see him "skulking" back to Scotland.

Parkhead supremo Michael Nicholson and money man Chris McKay took a private jet out to Mallorca to hold talks with Rodgers on Saturday to discuss the Irishman coming back to Glasgow and replacing Ange Postecoglou. Rodgers was stupidly successful in his first two-and-a-half year stint with the Celtic, winning every domestic competition he entered before departure and going unbeaten in his first campaign. But fans were not happy at the way he left for Leicester City in February 2019.

That lingering feeling is a problem manager and club, according to Jordan. He also believes Rodgers will be asking for a bigger wage than Celtic should perhaps be paying, and that his final season in charge of the Foxes is what he should be judged on rather than past glories. Jordan told talkSport: "Brendan Rodgers did a great job at Celtic and in recent times hasn't done a great job. Depends what Brendan Rodgers you're getting.

"I would be surprised if that was a route either party wanted to go down. If Celtic fans are disappointed with the way he’s left. Brendan Rodgers was responsible, in part, for this team being relegated. Is that good enough for Celtic? You have to be judged on your last job. I don’t think it’s a good fit.

"I don’t think there’s a benefit in going back and you need to move on. It’ll be interesting to see what’s on offer because after the last 12 months, I don't think he’ll be a highly sought after commodity for the high echelon clubs.

"At best for Brendan Rodgers, it’ll be a sideways move from what Leicester were, not what he turned them into. I just think going back to Celtic would create more challenges than
