Why Brighton star Marc Cucurella looked upset after scoring vs Manchester United

Marc Cucurella has revealed why he was overcome with emotion after scoring against Manchester United

Curcurella delivered an excellent performance as Brighton beat United 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The left-back ensured Anthony Elanga didn't have much joy down the flank and he added a goal to his strong defensive display in the second half.

The Spaniard doubled Brighton's lead shortly after the interval with a powerful strike past David de Gea. It was a well-worked goal from Graham Potter's side, but it was amateurish defending from United, who left two Brighton players unmarked.

Curcurella looked upset and teary eyed after scoring and he was asked about that moment after the full-time whistle.

"It was a good moment for my first goal. This summer me and my family we have had our bad moments," Curcurella told reporters.

"To come here is difficult, a new country a new league and a new language. Now this is a good moment for me and my family and we stay together in this moment."
