Who Roy Keane really supports as Man Utd icon admits he has no affinity to Red Devils

Manchester United icon Roy Keane has made the startling revelation that he is not a supporter of the club, despite his legendary status and history of success at Old Trafford.

The former United captain's unexpected disclosure comes as a surprise, particularly in light of resurfaced comments expressing his admiration for United's Premier League rivals Tottenham. Despite lifting numerous trophies with Sir Alex Ferguson's side, Keane's emotional connection to the Red Devils seems to be minimal.

On the Stick to Football podcast, presented by Sky Bet, Keane delved into his relationship with the teams he represented throughout his playing days. "I don't have that affinity with the clubs I've played for. I don't support Manchester United. I don't support Nottingham Forest," he said.

When questioned about his current feelings towards watching United, he added: "I have more of an insight with how it works at the club and the expectations, but I wouldn't say that I'm a fan – their results don't make or break my weekend. I wouldn't go home going, 'Get in there, that was a great win.' I'd be looking at it in a professional way."

Keane's comments may cause a slight stir among United fans, but his admiration for Spurs could potentially widen the divide. The ex-Sunderland boss's affinity for the north London club was highlighted when he donned a Tottenham-themed Christmas jumper in a photo with darts player Luke Humphries, Jill Scott and Ian Wright on a festive edition of the Overlap podcast last year, reports the Mirror.

However, Keane's unexpected loyalty to Spurs was first mentioned as far back as 2015 during a children's cancer charity event. "Just because I played for Manchester United didn't mean I was a fan of the team," Keane
