Who partners Cameron Carter Vickers in Celtic defence and will Scotland qualify for Euro 2024 in Spain? Monday Jury

KEITH JACKSON: Hearts have the stronger squad but Hibs are building momentum under Nick Montgomery. The Easter Road outfit look to be in a better place for the season ahead.

ANDY NEWPORT: The pendulum has been swinging back and forth between the capital clubs this term but Hibs seem to be improving bit by bit under Nick Montgomery while Hearts are starting to stutter. But given those fluctuations in form, it would be no surprise to see things flip again.

CRAIG SWAN: Hibs might just be the club on the up with the new manager clearly instilling a bit of fight into the group. Whoever is the least inconsistent will get on top.

SCOTT BURNS: Hibs could well take that honour this season. The appointment of Nick Montgomery seems to have given them a new lease of life and they look like they will only get stronger.

KEITH: Liam Scales deserves to hold on to his starting place for the time being. But Brendan Rodgers will be pleased to have strong competition for places.

ANDY: Liam Scales might not have been the name they expected to see on the team sheet at the start of the season but he’s etched it firmly into the reckoning having hardly put a foot wrong. He’s the form defender at the club and deserves his chance.

SCOTT: It will be Maik Nawrocki. He played on the left-hand side before his injury and I suspect he will get the nod on his return, ahead of Liam Scales, Stephen Welsh and Gustaf Lagerbielke.

KEITH: Fingers crossed. Don’t rule out the possibility of this team getting something in Seville on
