3 transformative Rangers tactical hits under Philippe Clement heralded but boss told one anxiety remains

New Rangers boss Philippe Clement ushered a new era into Ibrox with a convincing win over Hibs.

But Michael Stewart reckons there will be one issue leaving the boss "slightly anxious" after the 4-0 victory. It was a major switch-up from the final days of Michael Beale's tenure as a relentless Rangers piled the pressure on Nick Montgomery's side throughout the Scottish Premiership clash - with an Abdallah Sima double and strikers from Nicolas Raskin as well as Cyriel Dessers putting the Light Blues out of sight.

And former Easter Road midfielder Stewart told BBC Sportsound that the Belgian boss has instantly introduced a new energy to the team as well as encouraging his side to exploit space in the final third. He was also impressed by the pace at which Gers' attacked - moving on from the "ponderous" Beale era. However, he reckons the one drawback for the 49-year-old will be that Rangers didn't rack up more goals to build the confidence of their struggling stars.

"During Michael Beale's time one of the criticisms was they were a wee bit ponderous at times. Certainly Clement will have come away happier in that respect. The positives for Philippe Clement is the pace at which they were attacking with, and they were able to get into those openings very quickly.
