Who is Tom Glick? Former Manchester City executive linked with Todd Boehly Chelsea appointment

The Todd Boehly era at Chelsea is well underway after just over a month at the helm. The American businessman won the race to take over the Blues in late May alongside majority shareholders Clearlake Capital.

The consortium closed a record deal in football worth £4.25billion, putting an end to 19 years under Roman Abramovich. A statement from Boehly said after the sale: “We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We’re all in – 100% - every minute of every match.

"Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud. Along with our commitment to developing the youth squad and acquiring the best talent, our plan of action is to invest in the Club for the long term and build on Chelsea’s remarkable history of success. I personally want to thank ministers and officials in the British government, and the Premier League, for all their work in making this happen."

A number of changes are set to come on the field, but off the field there has already been a remarkable transformation. Two key figures of the Abramovich era have stepped down in Sporting director Marina Granovskaia and Chairman Bruce Buck, while CEO Guy Laurence also left the club.

With decisions set to be made over the new structure of the board and the running of the club, it appears that Boehly is set to appoint Tom Glick to handle the day-to-day procedures, as per Sky News. Glick has a wealth of experience in sports and has been working as the president of NFL side Carolina Panthers since 2018.
