Who is Dan Gore? Manchester United youngster named on bench vs Nottingham Forest

Dan Gore could be the latest playmaker to emerge through the club's youth ranks - with the 18-year-old showing his talents during an impressive 2022/23 campaign.

The youngster has emerged as one of the brightest stars in the club's youth ranks. He announced himself as a potential star of the future when playing alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the club's 2021 FA Youth Cup triumph. He followed that up last season when he was awarded the club's Reserve Player of the Year award.

Having played a range of roles in midfield, his wide range of passing and ability to run forwards with the ball has seen comparisons drawn to current first team star Bruno Fernandes by the MEN's Under-21 reporter Steven Railston, who has seen Gore's impact at academy level on countless occasions. Having captained the club's U21 side at 18, he was on the radar of manager Erik ten Hag in pre-season and has now been named on the bench for the Premier League game vs Nottingham Forest.

Following a brilliant performance against Arsenal for the club's U21 side last season, manager Mark Dempsey sang the youngster's praises - with particular focus on his leadership credentials.
