Who is Conor Carty? Former Wolves youngster who scored on Bolton Wanderers cameo vs Tranmere

Conor Carty came off the bench to grab his first goal for Bolton Wanderers' first team in the draw against Tranmere Rovers last night.

A Wanderers side that had 10 changes made to it from Saturday's win against Peterborough United went behind at Prenton Park thanks to Kieron Morris breaking the deadlock. Paul Lewis added a second for the hosts before half-time.

But Wanderers responded following their poor first half showing and halved the deficit through Kieran Sadlier's classy finish on the turn. And youngster Carty came off the bench to ensure the clash went to penalties following a 2-2 draw.

The Whites ultimately lost in a penalty shootout as Lloyd Isgrove saw his spot kick saved, However, Bolton still remain on top of their group and in control of their own destiny.

Carty was given the nod by Ian Evatt on 83 minutes and came on for Eoin Toal with the score 2-1. He repaid the faith shown in him with a stunning strike.

So who is the Irish striker who joined Wanderers over the summer from Wolves? He initially joined the club for its new B team.

Carty is 20-years-old and plays as a centre forward. He was previously at Premier League side Wolves having coming through the youth team ranks there.

He did not pick up a first team appearance while there. Carty was among one of eight players released by the Molineux side this summer.

He represented Wolves in both their under-18 and under-21 teams. He has also been capped up to under-18 level with the Republic of Ireland.
