Where Lawrence Shankland stands on Hearts transfer noise as Saudi rumours swirl amid unseen Jack Hendry connection
Scotland star Lawrence Shankland is happy at Hearts and unaware of any pending Saudi Arabian interest.
The Jambos skipper is the latest to be linked with a big-money move to the Middle East. The on-form frontman hit an impressive 28 goals for Hearts last season and is seen as one of their prize assets. Shankland’s representatives recently moved fellow Scotland cap Jack Hendry to Al-Ettifaq from Club Brugge for big-money. That has sparked online rumours and suggestions that there is set to be a big money offer from the cash-rich oil state.
Shankland’s full focus is on Hearts and helping them progress in Europe by overturning their 2-1 Europa Conference League defeat in Rosenberg last week. Shankland’s late goal gave them a boost for the Tynecastle return on Thursday. Hearts are also looking to strengthen and remain in talks with Brighton over Odel Offiah. The Jambos want to bring in more defensive cover and are keen on the 20-year-old.
Offiah has made two top team appearances and Hearts want to bring him north. Hearts technical director Stevie Naismith has a close relationship with Brighton director of football David Weir, as they were teammates together at Rangers.
