Where is the next Winter Olympics being held?

The 2022 Winter Olympics have been offering a variety of ice-cold sports entertainment, with some of the very best athletes in the world competing for Olympic glory.

While they have struggled to win medals this year, Team GB has seen great success in the curling competitions.

The men’s team won Britain’s first medal of the Beijing Games, narrowly missing out on gold after being defeated by Sweden in the final.

The women’s team, led by Eve Muirhead, have also secured a silver after reaching the final of their event. They face Japan in the gold-medal match this morning.

But with today also being the last day of the games, when can sport fans expect to see the next Winter Olympics, and where are they being held?

The next Winter Games will be held in Italy in 2026.

More precisely, Milan-Cortina will host the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will see the games return to Italy 20 years after Turin played host.

They will be held from February 6 to February 22, 2026.

The joint bid from Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo beat out a similar effort from Sweden’s Stockholm and Are in voting by International Olympic Committee members in June 2019.

Milan will be the urban center of the games, while the town of Cortina – a popular skiing destination in the Italian Alps – will share hosting duties

Cortina was scheduled to host the 1944 Winter Olympics before they were canceled due to World War Two, but were awarded the 1956 Winter Olympics.

Milan and Cortina are around 250 miles apart, with events set to be held in serval locations, with the opening ceremony set to take place at Milan’s San Siro stadium.

The distance between the cities means that the athletes will be housed in three separate Olympic villages.
